Armadillo Eggs?!?!

These are AMAZING...you gotta try em!!
Armadillo Eggs..
You'll need Jalapenos, cream cheese, sausage, and shake n bake

Roast the jalapenos for several minutes in the broiler. Cook the jalapeno/blacken the skin. Remove from broiler and place jalapenos in a zip-lock bag and let sweat. Peel off the skin of the jalapeno. Slice the jalepenos down one side and deseed. Rinse.
Stuff the jalapeno with Cream cheese.
Surround and cover the jalapeno with sausage
Coat with shake n bake
Bake for 35-40 minutes until sausage is cooked.

mmmm...DELICIOUS!
These are definitely not gentle on the waistline so try fat free cream cheese and a lower fat sausage.

Bahrain

This map shows where Bahrain is located in the Persian Gulf. Its a little tiny island off the coast of Saudi Arabia. This is where Rodolfo will be for 4 months. :(

Roo and Iz

Ruger and Isabelle are loving the warmer weather. We have gone for a walk everyday for the past 4 days! Its been in the 40's and is suppose to stay warm for the next week. Early spring here in Alaska?? I hope so!
Last Friday, Rodolfo found out he will be deploying to Bahrain for 120 days. As of now, he will be leaving around the 15th of July. Everyone we have talked to have said that Bahrain is an AMAZING place and that Rodolfo will love it there.

Rodolfo also found out today that he won CE Airman of the Quarter. WAY TO GO RODO!!!

I got a new job in Fairbanks at the Holistic Medical Clinic. I start on April 1st and am extremely excited!!

Isabelle got spayed last Monday and she doing extremely well. She didnt feel so hot the 1st day but woke up the next morning as fiesty as ever. :)

Lots going on here in Alaska at the Carrera household! We are definitely staying busy!

New Tattoo

I got a new tattoo a couple days ago..I think it turned out pretty good! :)

Lately...

We finally got above 0 yesterday!! Whoo-hoo!!! A whopping 2 degrees. Never in my life would I think 2 degrees would feel so 'warm.' But...on a sad note, when I woke up this morning it was back down to -18. :(
Ruger and Isabel are the best of friends. They spend the day playing tug-of-war, sleeping, cuddling, and running-a-muk. They definitely keep each other entertained.
Rodolfo leaves for Japan again in Feb. Still not sure of their departure date; seems as if it will be between the 5th and 7th. He is going with a team of 12 guys from the fire dept. and is very excited to eat some sushi. We still havent heard if Rodolfo will be deploying in May. Hopefully within a month we will know. If he does go, it should only be for 4 months. We're crossing our fingers that he gets to stay in Alaska for the summer.
I have started classes again this winter. Trying to get all my certs. and some experience so I can apply to be a flight nurse/medic here in the near future. 2 online classes and an all day Saturday class are keeping me busy. I have joined a vb team to play on a league in Fairbanks for the next couple months. We play every Monday night!
My Mom & Dad (Rodg & Sher) are finally coming to visit in June!!!! We are very excited to have them!
Other than this..nothin else is new! Hope everyone is having a blessed 2010!

Isabelle Two

We got our new puppy today!!!
She is a feisty one and has quite the personality.
Her name is Isabelle Two- she is named after the girl from 'Legends of the Fall.' The pups mother is named Bella so thats why the name Isabel Two fits.
She will be called anything from Izzy to Bell to Bella.
Ruger has done surprisingly well with her presence. He shares his toys and TRIES to play- She's just a tad too small to rough house with.
